Santa Clara Transit Station to open February 7

From LTD:

Happy 2021! Santa Clara Station will open for service on Sunday, February 7, 2021. The last day of operations at River Road Station will be Saturday, February 6, 2021. Construction of the Santa Clara Station has been extended to last until the station opens in February.

December was a very busy month on-site for construction crews. The concrete for the entire bus loop was poured by early December. Thereafter, crews began pouring concrete for the platform. Brick pavers, electrical and plumbing finishes, amenity installation, and landscaping will be completed around the platform in January.

Irrigation was installed around the entire site in December and soil was brought in for the plant beds and storm water planters. The landscape crew has been busy installing plants and trees around the site. All stormwater runoff is required to be retained and treated on site. All stormwater will drain to one of the several stormwater planters located around the site. The stormwater planters are a cleansing system that naturally filters water, traps sediments, and absorbs urban pollution. The largest of the stormwater planters is located near the driver relief building.

In December, power was turned on at the driver relief building. The driver relief building is nearing completion as the contractors wrap up mechanical controls and electrical finishes in early January. Sixteen secure bike lockers were installed adjacent to the driver relief building. Light poles, sight lighting, and cameras will all be installed around the site throughout January.

In December, a traffic signal was installed at the intersection of Green Lane and River Road. The City of Eugene will be inspecting the traffic signal and turning the new signal on in January. As previously communicated, the new traffic signal will run in sync with the other signals along River Road.

The traffic signal at the Green Lane and River Road intersection will be turned on in January at a date
