Here’s an over the top dog park in Illinois, called ‘Wiggly Field’. \u00a0We could start with just a fence and some maintenance free benches.<\/p>\nAt our recent SCCO meeting we discussed possibilities for Santa Clara’s\u00a0undeveloped parks. The undeveloped parks are Bobolink, Ferndale, Lone Oak, Terra Linda, Wendover and the Madison school area community park. \u00a0The city does not have a big enough budget to develop these parks at this time, so any changes to the park would likely have to be through a volunteer group.<\/p>\n
Two concepts that could be pursued are a dog park and natural playgrounds.<\/p>\n

Here’s an example of a play structure in a ‘natural playground’ \u00a0The City of Eugene wants any improvements to parks to be as maintenance free as possible. \u00a0Structures like the one in the photo are perfect. \u00a0Note that part of the volunteer improvements to Awbrey Park include basalt columns that\u00a0are being used as benches.<\/p>\n
