One\nstreet is a main route for vehicles and two are side streets connecting people to the\nRiverfront Park. Ideas will be accepted through September 13 on the City\u2019s new\nengagement website, Engage Eugene.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Redevelopment of the Downtown Riverfront has\nbeen part of the community\u2019s vision for decades\nand this is another opportunity to<br>\nensure our new neighborhood reflects Eugene\nand its community members as the vision starts\ntaking shape.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To be considered, street names will need to\nfollow practical guidelines and meet themed\ncategories that will make them relevant to\nEugene and the new Downtown Riverfront\nneighborhood. Suggestions should fall into one\nof three categories:\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li> <strong>Community\/Culture <\/strong>\u2013 From Kalapuyans to Bill Bowerman, choose a person, place, or thing that embodies Eugene. <\/li><li> <strong>Ecology\/River <\/strong>\u2013 From our rivers to surrounding mountains and the valley we live in, ideas representing the ecology of Eugene are as abundant as our native plants. <\/li><li> <strong>Industry\/Energy <\/strong>\u2013 There are major industries that are important to Eugene\u2019s history and the energy of steam and water have played an important role at the riverfront site.
