In the last six months, people driving and dangerous streets killed three people bicycling (Elizabeth Cardenas Figueroa,\u00a0Merle Dean Sheffield, and\u00a0Erick Munene Njue). Despite\u00a0Vision Zero\u00a0efforts to eliminate traffic fatalities and life-changing injuries no matter how people choose to travel, Eugene is seeing the number of deaths increase, mirroring experiences across the country. Now, community members and local organizations are coming together to envision and push for a safer and better transportation system for everyone. The community forum on February\u00a012 is one of the first steps in this journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
