Playing with Your Food

At the Fall Gardening Festival, sponsored by OSU Master Gardeners, at Emerald Park, 1400 Lake Dr, Eugene, on September 26, 11 am to 4 pm, there will be many opportunities to learn about gardening, listen to music, buy fruit tree and plants, eat great treats, and have fun.  Bring the whole family.

Among all of the fun activities at the fall festival, two stand out: Play with Your Food, and the Vegetable/Fruit Competition. Playing With Your Food lets us laugh, and have fun with the produce we grow. There’s no way to describe the silly things people make with bits of food and a little creativity. Both kids and adults are welcome to play.

The Vegetable/Fruit Competition should show how household vegetables did in the record setting 100 degree weather we’ve had. We might have to try different ones next year.  Ask a Master Gardener what might be best. It is all fun with gardening.
