Join Us to Volunteer for “Wood-Chipping” the Nature Trails at Wendover Park!

📍 Location: Wendover Park, Wendover Street off Scenic Drive just south of Beacon Dr

🌲 What’s the Plan? 🌲

We’ll be wood-chipping the trails to create a more enjoyable and sustainable walking experience. Wood chips help with erosion control, weed suppression, and provides a safer, more accessible pathway for all visitors.

👫 Who Can Join? 👫

Absolutely everyone! Whether you’re experienced or a beginner looking to connect with nature, your help is valuable. Families, friends, and solo volunteers are all welcome.

🛠️ What to Bring? 🛠️

Please bring work gloves, sturdy footwear, and your enthusiasm. Tools and wood chips will be provided on-site. Don’t forget to bring your reusable water bottles to stay hydrated.

The meeting will begin with Board business followed by a presentation by Eric Burke from the Friends of Trees that will start at approximately 8 pm.

Friends of Trees helps build resilient communities through the planting of trees in metropolitan areas from Portland to Eugene. The multiple benefits of a mature canopy are substantial and quantifiable. Learn about these aspects and ways you can help make our neighborhood a leader in climate resilience while providing habitat for a myriad of species.
