LTD System Review Survey due by February 16

LTD is conducting a system review to determine what works best for the community and the best use of its resources.  The first phase is an online survey tool that encourages the community to provide their input on what they would like to see for their service.  LTD wants to hear from all voices in our community and is asking for your help.

Complete the Interactive Design Your Own Service Survey by February 16

LTD is beginning to build back service while recovering from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. We can’t do everything at once, but we want to know what your top priorities are for improving service. This is where we need your help! The Design Your Service Survey allows you to select potential improvements that you think will help make LTD work better for you. Do you want more frequent transit service? Or earlier or later service on a particular day of the week? Or would you like to see LTD invest in on-demand services or better infrastructure? What is most important for you? This survey is your chance to get involved and share feedback with us to improve LTD service!

Complete the survey at LTDSystemReview.org by February 16 for a chance to win one of two $50 gift cards.

January 30th Presentation on ‘Seismic Safety of NW Eugene’s Bridges and Overpasses’

Please plan on attending this Zoom presentation and discussion on a topic that could affect all of us, especially in the Eugene NW Region.

Seismic Safety of NW Eugene’s Bridges and Overpasses
Tuesday, January 30, 2024
6:30 – 8:00 PM

https://tinyurl.com/SeismicSafety

Earthquakes can cause bridges and overpasses to fail, especially if they are not seismically engineered to withstand those risks. In an earthquake disaster, damage to our NW Region bridges and overpasses would affect our ability to evacuate and to receive aid and supplies.

This presentation will be open to anyone to attend, but should be of particular interest to residents and businesses in NW Eugene region neighborhoods, such as Bethel, River Road, and Santa Clara.

  • Learn about the current seismic resilience of our NW Eugene bridges and overpasses as well as any plans to seismically retrofit our nearby bridges and overpasses.
  • This will be a great opportunity to ask emergency preparedness/readiness questions related to this topic.

We are pleased to welcome presenters: Trish Sharma (Eugene Transportation Planner) and Sierra Anderson (Eugene’s Emergency Manager). There will be time for questions and answers. The meeting will be recorded and posted on the Ready NW Eugene — Emergency Preparedness Team channel on YouTube.com.

SCCO Meeting Presentation from Dec 7 – Santa Clara Water District

Eric Carlson, chair of the Santa Clara Water Board, reviewed when the district was formed and why, its governance structure, how it is funded, what its purpose has been over time, and how it has evolved.

Eric also went over how the district dovetails with other service providers such as EWEB. Eric also covers what he sees as the future of the district – its purpose, financial viability, and whether there is an eventual plan for its retirement or if it is essential moving forward.

Here is a link to the presentation. There is also a video of Committee Reports from the December Meeting.
