Changing of the Guard.
New board officers were elected at the February 1 SCCO meeting. After serving admirably as chair for over 200 SCCO meetings, Jerry Finigan will take on the secretary/treasurer duties of the SCCO. Our new chair is Kate Perle and our new vice-chair is Rebecca Marx.
There certainly has been a ‘youth movement’ in the last two years among the board. We welcome the energy and vision of our young newcomers and are glad our veteran board members are still attending meetings and providing input. Here’s a list of board members.
LTC Transfer Site Plan
Kate Perle reported on a committee meeting with 3 planners from LTD to get an update from LTD and to impart Santa Clara concerns and priorities regarding this site.
LTD has decided to abandon their original PUD and will establish two separate ones. The first dedicated to the planning and construction of the bus station; the second one that would be negotiated with SCCO and the City to establish a community-friendly gathering space. The committee suggested to the planners that, as plans move forward, the community will be contacted and involved.
The revised map below shows the transit station in green (PUD 1). As a reminder, here is a link to the original site plan which shows commercial buildings along River Road and housing in the northeast quadrant.
