Do you love waiting at the flashing red lights, just to enter Beltline for a short trip in stalled traffic to get to the Division or River Road exits? Do you think a bridge that lets you stay off of Beltline would be a good solution? Lane County and the city of Eugene are holding a meeting to get your feedback. Here’s another request for feedback from Becky Taylor, Senior Transportation Planner at Lane County:
… “I also want to let you know about an upcoming public hearing before the Lane County and City of Eugene Planning Commissions. They will be hearing testimony on Eugene’s Transportation System Plan (TSP). The TSP is the city’s 20-year master plan that will create transportation policy and a project list, to guide future transportation decisions for the entire city. It also includes local adoption of the Beltline Facilities Plan, which I know many of you are interested in – regarding the new bridge that would connect Green Acres Road with Beaver Street. The public hearing information is as follows:
Joint Planning Commission Public Hearing – Eugene and Lane County
Tuesday, June 21st, 6:00 p.m.
Harris Hall, 125 E. 8th Avenue, Eugene
You can either testify or submit written testimony at the hearing. The commissions will not be taking action that night. They’ll need time to consider the comments. When they do act, it will be in the form of a recommendation to the Lane County Board of Commissioners and Eugene City Council, who ultimately make the decision. The Board and Council will also hold a public hearing before they act, so there will be more opportunities to comment in the future (likely September).
