Community Garden Cottages Case Manager
Part-time Opportunity for Clinician/Social Worker
Community Garden Cottages at St. Matthew’s, the transitional housing project at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, is looking for a part-time case manager to work with residents at our cottages.
Community Garden Cottages grew out of concern about the homeless situation in Eugene. We have three cottages on our property at 4110 River Rd in the Santa Clara neighborhood in north Eugene, with the possibility of adding a fourth in the future. These cottages provide transitional housing for unhoused women.
Community Garden Cottages is looking for a case manager to help our residents back on the right track, transition into jobs, and find permanent housing. We expect the case manager to meet weekly with each resident, spending a total of 12 – 20 hours monthly in this role.
The ideal candidate is empathetic, organized, and has relevant experience as a case manager. An MSW is desirable but not required. Duties include performing clinician and social work to support residents in developing personal skills as well as navigating programs and resources available to transition into a permanent situation. The case manager will be supervised by a Community Garden Cottage team.
The case manager position pays $25 – 30 hour depending on education/experience.
Here are the case manager job requirements:
● Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in behavioral science, social science, or closely related
field (MSW desirable)
● Significant hands-on experience working with issues of homelessness is required.
Experience with substance abuse or outpatient case management is desirable
● In-depth understanding of case management functions, and knowledge of community
resources, including state and federal programs
● Excellent written and oral communication skills, including conflict-resolution skills
● Participate in weekly sessions with each Community Garden Cottage resident
● Participate in supervision sessions with team
