Awbrey Park Wildflower Walk & Santa Clara Community Celebration
Last year over 300 people attended our annual celebration. Our celebration is family friendly, fun and informative.
Awbrey Park is the ideal park to explore nature with your children or grandchildren. The park is loaded with native wildflowers in bloom and has a small forest where one can find woodpeckers, wood ducks, mallards, salamanders, newts and other wildlife.
Try the Wildflower Scavenger Hunt. Grab a chart with pictures of 16 wildflowers, then go find them. We’ll have some potted native plants to take home for folks who find enough plants on the hunt. We even have guided tours to help you.
Once you’ve had your fill of wildflowers, go play in the open field or on the playground. Then grab some FREE hot dogs from our fantastic hot dog crew. There’s also live music! Are the kids still full of energy? Have them visit Artie the Art Bus. They will have a ball!
There’s also the opportunity to learn about projects and planning in the Santa Clara Community. Community leaders and volunteers have been working on the River Road – Santa Clara Neighborhood Plan for over two years. Stay tuned for more information about the information booths that will be at the event.
