March will feature three short presentations and SCCO elections:
- Rita Gillihan, president of the North Eugene High School Booster Club, a newly formed nonprofit organization working to benefit student clubs, athletics, and all extracurricular activities. She will be with us to inform us about what they do and how to support their work. (approx 20 minutes with Q&A)
- Joy Marshall, working with “Yes for 4J Schools” Campaign. They are working to pass the renewal of the 4J Operating Levy which raises about $22m a year that goes directly into the classroom to benefit children by paying for staff (teachers, educational aides, etc.) They will also share any impact on taxes and answer questions. (approx. 20 minutes with Q&A)
- Measure 20-349 will be on the May ballot. It is a proposal to adopt STAR voting. We’ll have a guest to inform us what STAR Voting is, how it works, and what it would mean for Eugene elections. (20 min. with Q&A)
