SCCO Food Drive Donations to Support FOOD For Lane County Off to Good Start

In just six days, donations from members of the Santa Clara community have reached almost 25 percent of our goal. The need is great after the recent ice storm. This past weekend, FOOD For Lane County distributed 14 pallets of food and 4 pallets of water in Springfield, where families experienced lengthy power outages and a boil-water notice. Also, FFLC is holding pop-up food pantries this week to help those still having food problems due to the ice storm.

Please join our generous donors and contribute to this worthy and timely cause. If you know of any businesses or friends that you think might contribute, please pass along information about our drive. FOOD For Lane County is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.

A Green Food Drive is one that provides food for the hungry with less carbon inputs than traditional can drives. Canned and preserved food have lots of energy inputs-processing, trucking, packaging, etc., and ends up providing ingredients that have less nutritive value than locally produced fresher foods.
