From the city of Eugene:
Represent Our Community on Boards & Commissions
Is there a particular issue in our city you care about? Do you have skills you’d like to contribute to making our city a better place to live for all? Apply for membership on a City board, committee or commission by March 31. Participation on a City advisory body is an excellent way to get involved in local government, and is an interesting and challenging experience that can truly make a difference. These committees have openings this year:
- Budget Committee (3 positions)
- Civilian Review Board (2 positions)
- Planning Commission (2 positions)
- Human Rights Commission (3 positions)
- Library Board (3 positions, including 1 youth representative – must be 25 years or younger)
- Historic Review Board (2 positions)
- Whilamut Citizen Planning Committee (5 positions)
- Lane Regional Air Protection Agency (1 position)
Community members who serve on Eugene’s boards and commissions provide an invaluable service by assisting the City Council and City staff with a wide variety of subjects and developing recommendations on important policy matters. Motivated volunteers who reflect the diverse backgrounds and interests of our community are needed to serve.
