Welcome letter for new neighbors

Welcome to our Santa Clara neighborhood

The Santa Clara Organization wants all newcomers to Santa Clara to feel welcome. One way to welcome new neighbors is to visit them soon after moving in. Consider taking flowers, food and ideas of what to do and where to eat in our area. Flowers or food are usually highly appreciated during the hectic and stressful period of time when moving into a home.

Let your new neighbor that there is a County web page that can tell them if they are in the city or just county and who to call for services, which school district they are in, and who represents them on the City Council or County level.

Also, consider taking a letter of welcome that includes encouragement to quickly meet a lot of Santa Clara neighbors by attending an SCCO meeting. Here is an example of a letter of welcome. (Feel free to cut, paste and modify.)

Hello New Neighbor,

Welcome!  We are glad you’re here.

After you get settled in, a great way to meet a lot of neighbors at once and learn what is going on in the neighborhood, is to attend a meeting of SCCO, the Santa Clara Community Organization.  We meet the first Thursday of every month, from 7-9 PM. You can join us in person at 3280 River Road (the Messiah Lutheran Church) or via Zoom. Search for “SCCO Eugene” online, and you’ll find the SCCO webpage.  A few days prior to the meeting, a Zoom link will be published there.  Hope to see you there.

Warm Wishes,

___________, your neighbor
