LTD Board to hear recommended changes on October 16th

From LTD:

Over the last year, you provided an essential service to your community by participating in Lane Transit District’s System Review. Your work included completing a comprehensive survey that asked participants to prioritize service improvements, reviewed recommendations, or attended workshops and presentations hosted by LTD and consultants from Nelson-Nygaard.

LTD is so grateful for your time and effort!

The overwhelming majority of the 3,000+ survey responses requested more frequency and 86% of survey respondents were supportive of the recommendations. The short- and long-term service recommendations will increase frequency on nearly all metro and rural routes and will provide more consistent service on major corridors. These changes mean LTD and our partners will continue to provide effective and efficient service to the communities we serve.

LTD’s Board of Directors will meet on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, to hear the service recommendations and vote on their approval. The recommended changes and materials for the Board packet can be found on LTD’s Event Calendar. To provide comments, you can attend the Board meeting in person, by Zoom (link on event calendar), or in writing by emailing Clerk@LTD.org.

Thank You Santa Clara Community!

By donating your returnable bottles and cans to the Santa Clara Community Foundation, through Bottle Drop Give  (the blue bag program), you help fund projects right here in our community.

When we all pitch in, it adds up. So far this year we’ve made over $800!

If you would like to pitch in, too, follow these easy steps!

Pick up a blue bag at SCCO meetings, at the SCCF table at neighborhood events, or email bluebag@santaclaracommunityfoundation.org and we’ll deliver one (or more) to you.

When you have a bag-full, you can take it to any Bottledrop drop-off location, scan the QR code on the bag to open the hatch and insert your bag. Or, contact us and we’ll arrange a pick up! The Foundation gets credit for all blue bags using our QR code.

If you like, you can also donate funds from your Bottle Drop account directly from the web, or at a kiosk. Log in and visit https://bottledrop.com/donate-nonprofits/. Find “Santa Clara Community Foundation” with the search box and click Donate. Thank you!

The Santa Clara Community Foundation is a 501(c)3, community-supported neighborhood organization in Eugene, Oregon.

SCCO Meeting – Thursday, Oct 3, 7 PM

SCCO Meeting
Thursday, October 3
7 PM
3280 River Rd (Messiah Lutheran Church)

Program: Braver Angels

Braver Angel’s message:
As we separate into groups that increasingly do not even know or interact with people of differing opinions, we lose trust in our institutions, eroding the ability to govern ourselves and lowering the caliber of citizenship.
This growing trend coarsens public debate, produces policy gridlock, shrinks our capacity for goodwill, and harms our family and personal relationships. Effective self-government depends precisely on what this type of polarization destroys. We believe the American Experiment can survive and thrive for every American who contributes to the effort

Note: We promised on our mailed postcard that our October program would be a presentation about North Eugene High School by Principal Nain Muñoz. This has been postponed due to a scheduling conflict)

Also: A conversation with Ron Lamie of the Irving Grange about how SCCO can better network with the Grange.
