Eugene Parks & Rec Future for Santa Clara Meeting, Thursday, Feb 18th

This is a reminder of this Thursday’s meeting at 6PM at Madison Middle School.

City staff will share what they learned from public outreach last summer and the vision that’s emerging for the future of parks and recreation in Eugene. Food and childcare activities will be provided.

Please put this on your calendar and help support your desire for dog parks, community parks, and parks with river access, et cetera, in the Santa Clara area.   Our region is underserved in community parks, , dog parks, river access and large parks like Amazon, Hendricks, or Alton Baker and your voice is needed.

Update on Awbrey Park Work Party – Saturday Feb 6

Update on tomorrow, Saturday, Feb 6.

We have decided to cancel our February 6th work party to better focus on the March 5 work party and Mayor Piercy’s dedication of the bridge on the same day.

Three of Awbrey Park’s regular volunteers will be at the park at 9am this Saturday. They’ll be greeting anyone who missed our cancellation message. We’ll also be doing some litter pickup, ivy and blackberry work, and possibly some butterfly garden and fawn lily prep work.

Feel free to drop by. If you want to pitch in, it’s a BYOTG&C. Bring Your Own Tools, Gloves and Coffee. Otherwise, please just drop by to see the new bridge and wander in the back part of the park. The bridge leads to a forested area that has quite a different feeling than the rest of the park. It’s a wonderful addition.
