Lane County Recycling Info (Including Plastics)

Recently I’ve been fielding questions about plastics recycling. In particular the new development that #1 and #2 bottles, jugs, and jars are being accepted again in curbside containers and at transfer stations. Here is the Lane County flyer describing recycling options.

Reminder: Applications for Ward 7 City Council Vacancy due by 5:00 PM, Wednesday, Nov 9

Applications are now being accepted for the appointment of Ward 7’s Interim City Councilor. Applicants must reside in Ward 7, be a legal elector under the laws and constitution of the state and be a resident of Eugene for one year immediately before being appointed to office. Interviews with the Eugene City Council will be scheduled in early December. The application deadline is 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 9, 2022.

The interim appointment will be made in December 2022 and the person appointed will serve until a successor, duly elected in May of 2023, takes office in July of 2023.

The successor, elected in May of 2023, will serve out the remainder of the current City Council, Ward 7 term (01/2021-01/2025).

Dedication of Community Garden Entrance

Santa Clara Community Garden entrance has been improved over the past few years by Lily and George Price, and others who have lent a hand. On November 13, 2022, at Noon, there will be a brief dedication of the entrance, at the garden entrance, weather permitting. Santa Clara Community Garden is located behind St. Matthews Episcopal Church, at 4110 River Rd. in Eugene. All community members are invited to attend.
