Santa Clara Transportation Open House – September 11

The City of Eugene will be hosting the River Rd and Santa Clara Transportation Open House in the gymnasium of North Eugene High School (250 Silver Ln, Eugene, OR 97404) on Wednesday, September 11th from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm

Please consider attending to provide feedback on a number City transportation projects, including:

  • Division Avenue Roundabouts: The City of Eugene is working with a consultant team to develop conceptual design alternatives for Division Avenue, that include: roundabouts, improved bike facilities, and enhanced pedestrian crossings.
  • Westbank Path Extension: The City of Eugene’s Transportation System Plan calls for the extension of the West Bank Path up to Wilkes Drive from its current terminus near Hunsaker Lane.  This new path will link the popular Riverbank Path to the new Santa Clara Community Park just north of Wilkes Drive.
  • River Road Santa Clara Bicycle and Pedestrian Bridge: This project explores the feasibility of constructing a bicycle and pedestrian bridge over Beltline Highway, connecting the Santa Clara and River Road neighborhoods.
  • Hunsaker Ln Improvements: This project aims to expand low-stress active transportation connectivity and access within the Santa Clara neighborhood, as well as improve stormwater drainage conditions. Planned improvements to Hunsaker Lane include sidewalks, bike facilities, and stormwater improvements.
  • Grove Street Active Transportation Improvements: The City of Eugene, in partnership with Lane County and Safe Routes to School, is looking into ways to make Grove Street a safer place for people to walk, bike, catch the bus, and drive. Grove Street provides a direct route to school for Kelly Middle School and North Eugene High School students but it lacks sidewalks or other dedicated space for people on foot. The City wants to hear from the community about design options and priorities for this neighborhood street.
