From the Press Release by the Asian Celebration team:

“In keeping with this year’s event theme “Strength in Unity – Year of the Ox,” the Asian Celebration will join another long-standing Asian cultural event in Eugene – the Obon and Taiko Festival on July 31st at Alton Baker Park,” says David Tam, the Celebration’s event director.

“Both events are held annually in Eugene. The Asian Celebration enters its 36th consecutive year and the Obon and Taiko Festival enters its 32nd consecutive year. “We are very excited to work with the Obon and Taiko festival to create an exciting atmosphere celebrating Asian cultural heritage in the arts, music, dance, folk art, and more. A marketplace, demonstrations of martial arts and crafts, and a variety of Asian food carts will also be included,” Tam said. “The event will begin at 10:00 a.m. and continue until 10:00 p.m.”
