From the City of Eugene’s website:
The City Council has appointed Lyndsie Leech [link goes to Leech’s application] to fill the Ward 7 Interim City Councilor position. Leech was appointed during a Work Session conducted Wednesday, December 14, 2022.
Leech will serve until a successor, duly elected in May 2023, takes office in July 2023. The successor, elected in May 2023, will serve out the remainder of the current City Council, Ward 7 term (01/2021-01/2025).
The City of Eugene received 10 applications for the Ward 7 Interim City Councilor position and selected five of the applicants to interview during a Special Meeting on Monday, December 5, 2022.
Note that Santa Clara is served by two City Councilors, with River Road roughly the dividing line between Ward 5 and Ward 7. There are several businesses east of River Road that are in Ward 7, while the rest of the area east of River Road is in Ward 5. See the specifics here.
