Large Scale Construction project at River Road & Beltline over the next several months

From NW Natural Gas:

I wanted to reach out to both the River Road & Santa Clara Community Organizations regarding a large scale construction project NW Natural will be doing at the River Road & Beltline intersection over the next several months. Federal law requires safety inspections of our transmission lines and to ensure we are compliant with these protocols, we will be conducting in-road work on River Road and roadside work along the westbound Beltline exit onto River Road.

As neighborhood leaders, I wanted to be sure you heard about this project from me first.

Below are a few pieces of information I hope you will find helpful.

1. We will be conducting the roadside work first, beginning on/around July 17. This work is not expected to disrupt traffic.
2. In-road work will begin, approximately, in mid-August. This work will take place at night, Monday through Thursday, between 9:00 pm and 5:00 am.
3. Nearby residents and businesses may notice noise as a result of the project.
4. While we will make every effort to minimize traffic disruptions, there will be periods of time when single lanes on River Road will be closed.
5. Natural gas service will not be affected during this project.
6. All work is being permitted by the city of Eugene and ODOT.

I can be reached via email (david.vanderhaeghen@nwnatural.com ) or phone (541-731-8587) if you or anyone has specific questions. Please do not contact the city or ODOT with questions as they are not performing the work.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
