Housing and Homelessness meeting August 22

Meeting:  Thursday, August 22nd
12-1pm
McNail-Riley House
601 W 13th Ave Eugene

The Neighborhood Leaders Council Housing and Homelessness committee will continue with a year-ending series looking at shelter and housing options in Eugene.  The July meeting was an informative look at legal and illegal car camping with Regan Watjus, City Manager’s office and Keith Heath, St. Vincent de Paul.  In August, Linda Barnes, Lane Co. Human Services will talk about “what went right and what went wrong” with the Hwy 99 Dawn to Dawn camp. We hope to also have a speaker to address the city’s plan for a 75 bed shelter.

Looking ahead:  Monthly meeting conversations will take a look at Winter Strategies for sheltering the unhoused,  the recently passed HB 2001 allowing increased density in residential areas, the overlap between disaster preparedness and addressing housing/shelter needs,  and efforts to carry out the TAC report recommendations.  Here is a link to the public shelter feasibility study.

Annexation Property Tax Estimator

Ever wonder what your property taxes would be if you annexed your property to the city of Eugene? Here’s a link to a useful tool that will give you an estimate.

The app is intended to provide an estimate of the change in property taxes resulting from annexation to the City of Eugene. The scope of this tool includes properties within the River RoadSanta Clara and Industrial Corridor neighborhoods which are located inside the Eugene Urban Growth Boundary (UGB) but outside the Eugene city limits.

River Road Santa Clara Neighborhood Plan

Main Topic: Update on the River Road – Santa Clara Neighborhood Plan

This monthly meeting of the Santa Clara Community Organization will feature an update on specific draft actions to make the River Road – Santa Clara Neighborhood Plan a reality. Neighborhood volunteers from both Santa Clara and River Road have been hard at work to draft goals, policies and actions that will guide decision making for the next twenty years. This neighborhood plan is a chance to take city-wide policies and tailor them to the unique aspects of our neighborhoods. At this SCCO meeting we will review the work currently being done on the draft action items and collect input on neighborhood priorities.

Want more information on the Neighborhood Plan?

The River road – Santa Clara Neighborhood Plan is a collaborative effort between SCCO, RRCO, the City of Eugene and Lane County. The plan will address land use planning, economic development, transportation, parks and natural resources and community.
