We are starting to see some activity regarding Safety Education and Safety Engineering along Beaver-Hunsaker. Thanks to everyone who has provided input at our SCCO meetings and directly to Lane County Public Works.
Here’s a recent message from Becky Taylor, Senior Transportation Planner at Lane County Public Works.
Dear Friends and Families of Beaver-Hunsaker:
Thanks to overwhelming community support and multiple-agency collaboration, we have made progress on our engineering and education plans for improving pedestrian safety on the Beaver-Hunsaker Corridor. Last Thursday, the Central Lane Metropolitan Policy Committee expressed support for allocating federal funding to implement short-term engineering improvements. Yesterday, we were able to install about 40 safety signs in front yards along the Beaver-Hunsaker Corridor, following a pedestrian safety presentation at the Lone Oak Assisted Living Center. Details are attached.
Thanks,
Becky Taylor
