Big Week for Important Meetings: Planningpalooza

There are four meetings this week that will have impacts on the Santa Clara area. Pat yourself on the back if you make all four.

Open House Monday June 2 Four to Six pM.

Think of the June 3 open house as a subset of the Neighborhood Planning process. The Corridor Study is looking at what should be done with the street, sidewalks, and safe street crossing points along River Road as well as what type of businesses and housing we want along River Road.

The June 4 Open House reviews the proposals for the Beltline/Delta interchange, the Beltline/River Ave/Division area and the Beltline/ River Road exit.

The June 5th open house will cover at least 15 of the city of Eugene’s projects, including several specific to Santa Clara. Some other exciting projects to get a sneak peak at are the Downtown Square, the Downtown Riverfront and Climate Action Plan 2.0.

Our monthly SCCO meeting is Thursday, June 6 at 7 PM. We will be electing one new board member.
Interested? You can nominate yourself! Qualifications are that candidates must have signed into at least one meeting in the last 12 months and be either a resident, property owner, or business owner in Santa Clara.

Help us turn the Neighborhood Plan into Actions

Please come to the working group meeting this Tuesday the 21st from 4-7 pm at North Eugene High School.  Bring others you know who want to join a working group.  You will be able to work on actions for topic areas and goals.  There are many goals to work on including: bicycle and pedestrian safety, infill and housing types, transportation, parks,  neighborhood economic development, community building, farmland preservation and more. There are 18 goal areas to review, so pick the one that interests you the most.

At this meeting, help decide:

  • Which actions make a real difference?
  • Which actions can we get started on right away?
  • Which actions might be difficult, but are imperative?
  • Which actions will need to wait for implementation

Thanks for all of your ideas so far.  Now we are turning those ideas into actions that will affect our future and we need your help to get it right.  We look forward to seeing you there.
