As we reviewed our 2018 accomplishments at our February 7 SCCO meeting, there was mention of problems at our new off leash dog park at Lone Oak Park. It appears things have improved, but there is still work to be done.
We want you to know there is an easy way to report park problems to the city. Just go the the Park Watch website. You will find a drop down menu with over 25 issues to choose from, including:
– Illegal Camping
– Safety Issues
– Trash
– Vandalism
– Graffiti
You then choose the park with the issue. Then you can place a ‘pin’ on the exact location in the park where the issue exists.
Park Watch has been used for both Lone Oak Park and Awbrey Park. The city usually responds quickly.
Please note that if you have an emergency or you are observing a crime in progress, please call 911.
During our February 7 review of the SCCO’s 2018 ongoing projects, questions were asked about the status of ODOT’s plans for Beltline near Santa Clara.
There is a video of the plans for the Delta Highway/Beltline Highway interchange plan at https://www.oregon.gov/odot/projects/pages/project-details.aspx?project=19490. Final designs will be completed in 2019. Construction is expected to begin in 2020
There is also a document with proposed plans for the section of Beltline from the Willamette River to River Road. You can find the document here.
You can sign up for ODOT email updates here.

Last summer many of you participated in Lane Transit District’s outreach for the project — Transit Tomorrow: a comprehensive look at LTD’s service and operations. LTD was seeking input on what types of public transit service the community valued and where LTD should prioritize resources to provide service.
The LTD team reached out to riders, residents, business owners, non-profit organizations, city leaders and others through tabling events, forums, listening sessions and an online open house (a survey).
LTD used what was heard from the public last summer to create four distinct transit system alternatives that asked the following questions:
The public’s answers to these two questions helped create four possible scenarios that demonstrate how transit service could change in the near future. Currently LTD is seeking a second round of input. This is your opportunity to help LTD further define what transit service should look like in the community. To provide feedback you can participate in an online open house attend one of multiple tabling events at either the Springfield station or the Eugene station, or attend a public presentation about the Scenarios Report held at the University of Oregon. For detailed information on dates and times, or to participate in the online open house visit or online survey visit:
