Those who attended the recent River Road Corridor Planning Workshops were able to pick up a Transportation Update for projects along River Road. The document, including maps of where the projects are located, can be found here. The following are excerpts from the document. Most of the funded projects are to be completed from 2019 through 2021. Other projects in the planning stages, such as the Beaver-Hunsaker corridor, have a much longer time line.

A lot of progress has been made at the first two days of the Corridor Study and workshops. Yesterday’s workshop provided the opportunity to look at some new ideas for the area from Beltline to Hunsaker. Ideas included a city library branch, a community meeting room, a restaurant and housing on the former Santa Clara school site.
Tonight, the last of three consecutive workshops starts at 6:30 and ends at 8:00. There will be a short presentation at 7 PM. Please join us. Drop in anytime. Plan on spending 20 to 30 minutes reviewing the different stations.
You’ll find information about updates to the intersection at River Road and Hunsaker, the LTD transit station, and development possibilities for the rest of the old Santa Clara School property. You can also learn more about housing options, possible ’20 minute neighborhood’ centers along the corridor and more. (The Corridor Study also includes River Road south of Beltline down to Maurie Jacobs park.)

Thanks for the great turnout last night at the first of three workshops.
The workshops provide an opportunity for members of the public to drop in, review and provide comment on the work of our design team. These are drop in workshops where you can show up anytime between 4 and 6. Plan on spending about 20 to 30 minutes reviewing the planning progress. Each station is staffed with people knowledgeable in a specific topic area.
Overview of the Corridor study: The River Road Santa Clara Neighborhood Plan is crafting a vision for the future of the two neighborhoods. Join your neighbors and local businesses in developing options for the corridor. Help create thriving, vibrant and active mixed neighborhood centers along River Road that support all forms of transportation, including walking, biking, and transit.

There will be a third workshop Wednesday starting at 6:30 PM. There will be a short presentation at 7PM.
Note that Registration is required.
