SCCO Meeting Thursday the 3rd. Parks, Dogs and Area Plan
Also, Revisiting creating a dog park
Last year the Santa Clara Community Organization supported and
researched the creation of a dog park in Santa Clara. It was decided
that the best place for one would be Lone Oak Park — an undeveloped
park bordering Division Avenue. The possibility looked promising until the
City decided that might be a good spot for a homeless rest stop (which they subsequently decided not to do) and a change in leadership in the City Parks Department disrupting the continuity of our progress. This may be perhaps a good time to try to kickstart this process.
And — Input in what should be included in area plan
Before the area plan for River Road and Santa Clara is launched in about a month we will be considering the 6 areas that will comprise the area plan
and suggest what would be important to consider as the plan is constructed:
• Land Use
• Parks and Recreation
• Transportation
• Public Safety
• Economic Development
• Governance
But wait, there’s more. A message from the Lane County Regional Air protection Agency:

Attendees at the Awbrey Park Tuesday and Thursday ‘Fun for All’ program can’t wait for Saturday’s movie.
Once again Awbrey Park will be the site of a Free Movie courtesy of the City of Eugene. This year, the movie is ‘The Iron Giant’, an 87 minute flick that starts at 9 PM.
Bring your blankets, lawn chairs and picnics. Sorry, no glass containers, alcohol, smoking or pets.
Next month the action will be at Arrowhead Park. A Party in the Park will be held Tuesday, August 27. Music courtesy of Samba Ja.
