Beaver Hunsaker Corridor & Multi Use Path Update

LTD announced a 3 million dollar grant from the Oregon Department of Transportation.  The grant will cover nearly 40 per cent of the park and ride station at the old Santa Clara school site (Hunsaker and River Road).  Construction is anticipated to begin in 2017, with completion in 2018.

The construction of the transit station hopefully will lead to a safer Hunsaker-Beaver corridor and the addition of a Multi-Use path along the western edge of Delta Sand & Gravel.  The document below reviews the current status of the corridor study as well as next steps.  You will be able to provide input at other times during the process.

We off our thanks to the dozens of people who showed up for the June meeting at North Eugene High School.

The City of Eugene has decided it needs more time to reach a final decision regarding using Lone Oaks park as a homeless Rest Stop.

For more information about the most recent decision by the city, including how long the Rest Stop might be at Lone Oak park, please read the July 30 The Register-Guard article.

The Santa Clara Community Organization has  not taken a position on this issue at this time.
