Santa Clara park chosen as homeless ‘Rest Stop’

Lone Oak Park, near Lone Oak Assisted Living, has been chosen as the location for a Rest Stop for the  homeless.

  • A rest stop is a designated area within city limits where up to 20 people are allowed to sleep in tents or Conestoga Huts.
  • Two local non-profits are responsible for day to day oversight of the rest stops. Community Supported Shelters and Nightingale Health Santuary
  • Residents sign agreements to abide by rest stop rules and an onsite manager provides supervision.
