Combined River Road and 30th Avenue route to be studied for EmX service

The City CoMovingAheadReImagineduncil and LTD have identified a bus route stretching from River Road to Lane Community College as a potential EmX route.  The route will be considered for  ‘enhanced’ service or a ‘do nothing’ option.

Awbrey Park Wildflower Walk and Celebration This Saturday

Come take a tour of Awbrey Park this Saturday, April 16th, to see the native plants in bloom.  There will be Frisbee Golf, smores, horseshoes, and a treasure hunt for the kids.  At noon, there will be a dedication ceremony for the new bridge that the city installed late last year.

Santa Clara residents should have received a mailer this week from the Santa Clara Community Organization.  The mailer has more information about the Awbrey Park celebration and other upcoming events in Santa Clara.  If you didn’t get a mailer, here is a look at the first page of the mailer.

  • Cornerstone Housing (affordable housing on Hunsaker)
  • Progress in the project to sign a bike route in east Santa Clara
  • Beginning work to try to extend the West Bank Trail in Santa Clara

EmX or Enhanced River Road Corridor? – Comment by Friday , March 18th

MovingAheadReImaginedPlease take the time to participate in MovingAhead’s on line open house.  There are three options on the table for River Road.  An ‘Enhanced Corridor’ alternative, an EmX option and a no build alternative.  The first two options include improvements for bicyclists and pedestrians.

SCCO Meeting Thursday, March 3 7:00 PM

The main topic at our March meeting will be the potential of a new biking and walking trail to connect Beaver-Hunsaker to River Loop 1.  There will also be disussions regarding signing a route along existing roads and a longer term vision of a trail along the river.

Also to be considered at the meeting is whether the SCCO should offer its support of the OSU Extension Service 5 year levy ballot measure.
