Press Release from MovingAhead:
Join us to review alternatives for how some of Eugene’s most important streets for people biking, walking, using mobility devices, and taking the bus could be improved.
Through MovingAhead, the City of Eugene and the Lane Transit District (LTD) have developed alternatives for how transit – both EmX and regular buses – and improvements to sidewalks and bikeways might make it easier to get around our community.  At the open house, you can review the alternatives for changes to the corridors along Highway 99, River Road, Coburg Road, 30th Avenue to Lane Community College, and Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard.

Full Press Release including survey Here

The River Road Corridor Enhancements/EmX options can be found Here, approximately page 3-38.

Discussion of Support for Extension Service Levy

At the Santa Clara Community Organization (SCCO) meeting on March 3, at 7 pm, there will be a discussion and possible action to support OSU educational programs in the community. Over the past several years SCCO has developed goals supporting farming and gardening. There is a long history of agriculture in the Santa Clara area, and SCCO sponsors a community garden.

The question to be discussed is: Shall SCCO offer its support of the OSU Extension Service 5-year levy ballot measure scheduled for a vote of the people of Lane County on May 17, 2016, and endorse and recommend the assessment of $1.50 per $100,000 assessed value (about $3 per year on a $200,000 assessment)?

That’s a cup of good coffee per year in support of 4-H kid programs , Master Gardener and Master Food Preserver volunteers who provide training. Additionally, a commercial agriculture agent and forestry program will be added to Lane County Extension. The meeting location is: Messiah Lutheran Church 3280 River Road. Come on out to your neighborhood organization.

Eugene Parks & Rec Future for Santa Clara Meeting, Thursday, Feb 18th

This is a reminder of this Thursday’s meeting at 6PM at Madison Middle School.

City staff will share what they learned from public outreach last summer and the vision that’s emerging for the future of parks and recreation in Eugene. Food and childcare activities will be provided.

Please put this on your calendar and help support your desire for dog parks, community parks, and parks with river access, et cetera, in the Santa Clara area.   Our region is underserved in community parks, , dog parks, river access and large parks like Amazon, Hendricks, or Alton Baker and your voice is needed.
