World Day of Social Justice: The Invisible Class Movie/Discussion (Free)

The Invisible Class is a grassroots documentary film that is being independently released and brought to you in collaboration with the City of Eugene Human Rights Commission honor of the United Nations’ World Day of Social Justice. Free viewing of the film begins at noon on Friday, February 18 through Sunday, February 20 with a group screening and full panel discussion (virtual) on Sunday, February 20 at 6 PM. Free tickets available online>>here

The Invisible Class explores what it truly means to be homeless in  America, challenging stereotypes and examining the systemic causes of mass homelessness in the wealthiest nation in the world. From coast to  coast the film is a day in the life of homelessness across America. From the system that created it, to the criminalization that perpetuates it, mass homelessness didn’t always exist. The Invisible Class explains how we got here.

The panel discussion will be hosted by Commissioner Heather Sielicki and will include representatives from local service providers, law enforcement, mental health and others. The panel will discuss the film and local efforts to support the unhoused community.
