Live in Santa Clara? Want to make a difference?

Get on Board
Santa Clara Community Foundation

Please consider becoming an SCCO board member or member of another committee

The Santa Clara Community Organization will be holding board elections on February 3rd.  Any resident, property owner, or business owner, 18 years or older, living in the SCCO boundaries is eligible to become a board member if they have attended at least one SCCO general meeting in the twelve months prior to the election.  This Thursday’s meeting (January 6th) gives everyone who isn’t an SCCO member the opportunity to become eligible to run for the board in the February election

The first presentation of the January meeting will be an overview of SCCO’s 2021 achievements.  The presentation will be a good way for those new to the SCCO to learn about the many projects going on in Santa Clara and explore ways to volunteer.

One of the major accomplishments of the year was the formation of a non-profit, 501(c)3 corporation – the Santa Clara Community Foundation.  The Foundation was formed to foster community involvement and investment by organizing and funding projects that specifically benefit the residents of the Santa Clara neighborhood.

Please consider participating in the Santa Clara Community Foundation. Join one of the committees, apply to be a board member, or volunteer on a project. Contact foundation@santaclaracommunity.org or visit https://santaclaracommunityfoundation.org for more information, and a board application.

Monthly SCCO meeting this Thursday, January 6 – 7PM

Please join us this Thursday for what should be a relatively short, but important meeting. There will be a recap of accomplishments in 2021 and a presentation by the SCCO Social Justice Committee.

The main topic will be Keeping Santa Clara Safe. There have been several incidents of racist and anti-Semitic nature in the Santa Clara/River Road area over the past four years. In 2021 alone there were at least four incidents, one involving a gun. We are looking for ideas on how to prevent escalation of bias in Santa Clara.

Also, in case you missed it, here is a link to our December 2021 SCCO Neighborhood News newsletter. Link to newsletter.
