Zoom Problems After Updating?

It came to our attention that the latest update of Zoom on Windows PCs may have some trouble connecting to the speaker/microphone. Jerry Mohr, she’s our most recently elected SCCO board member and a technical professional, has this to say.

“It’s a known problem and Zoom is working on it, but have not released a fix yet.  Just found this: https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201361953-New-updates-for-Windows
Under Resolved issues, 3rd item – “Resolved an issue for a subset of users regarding Zoom finding no speaker due to a request timeout for a Windows API “

Looks like they don’t have a release date for the fix.  But if you have other zoom meetings with folks using Windows systems, let them know not to upgrade yet.  If they already have it, they can go here to download and install an older version (they have to uninstall the broken version first): https://zoom-us-zoom.en.uptodown.com/windows/versions
Ver. 5.6.6 worked for me.”

Beaver-Hunsaker: Safety Express Construction

From Land County Public Works:

Work is beginning this week through mid-September to make Beaver-Hunsaker safer. Lane County will be making the following improvements:

  • Installing tubular delineators along the shoulder of Hunsaker Lane
  • Installing a pedestrian-activated flashing beacon at the Hunsaker Lane crosswalk at Taito
  • Constructing a multi-use path along the Delta Sand and Gravel street frontage

We have worked with the contractor, Wildish Construction Company, to limit impacts to the neighborhood and traveling public. You can expect:

  • Work to be conducted Monday through Friday between 7AM and 7PM
  • One or more traffic lanes may be closed between 7AM and 3:30 PM

The best contact person for questions about construction activities is Lane County’s Field Inspection Supervisor, Matt Young.

Thank you!
