ONE We’re at the midway point to the Bloodworks Rev It Up Sweepstakes – no time to take a pit stop! In partnership with Haselwood Auto Group, you may have heard Bloodworks Northwest is giving away a car…again! There’s still time to donate (by March 17) for the chance to be automatically entered to win one of nine pre-selected automobiles! Now is the time to find a Pop-Up Donor Center to make sure you’re in the driver’s seat for this high-octane promotion! Check out the terms and conditions at bloodworksnw.org/winacar.
TWO When you donate with Bloodworks Northwest between February 1 and February 28, your blood will be tested for the COVID-19 antibodies, which are a key component of the immune system that appear in blood after fighting an infection. The testing will help identify people who may be able to donate to our convalescent plasma program and help COVID-19 patients directly. Be a COVID-19 hero and schedule your one hour appointment. Donating blood is a safe and essential activity.
All donations are by appointment only. The one hour donation appointment is a safe and essential action to support local hospitals and patients. The pop-up centers are being conducted in accordance with social distancing guidelines. No walk-ins, guests, or people under age 16 are permitted onsite. All donors are required to wear masks during their appointment. Bloodworks has posted information addressing questions and concerns for blood donors at bloodworksnw.org/coronavirus.
Our next SCCO meeting is scheduled for Thursday, February 4th. The meeting will be held via Zoom and will be at 7PM.
The main agenda item is the election of board members. There are five board members whose terms expire in February. There will also be updates on the opening of the LTD transit station by project manager Randi Stadinger and the COVID-19 vaccine rollout from Jason Davis from Lane County Public Health.
Any resident, property owner or business owner within the neighborhood boundaries having attended at least one Santa Clara meeting in person or online in the past year is eligible to become a board member or vote on board members. Note that our board is a working board and all members will be asked to participate and share their talents beyond just attending the monthly meetings. No experience necessary, but enthusiasm required.
