Safe Streets for All Interactive Workshop Part Two

From the Safe Routes to School Program

We decided to postpone the Safe Streets Audit event. Here is the updated invitation from AARP, BEST and Safe Routes to School to your neighbors. Thank you!

Safe Streets for All Interactive Workshop Part Two at 10 -11:30 a.m., March 30th

In the time of COVID-19, we have grown accustomed to our world changing around us. With increased time spent at home, people are re-discovering their neighborhoods, and with schools and workplaces transitioning through stages of re-opening, it’s important to know how to document dangerous transportation conditions and how to take action to make your neighborhood streets safe.

Join BEST, AARP® Oregon, and Eugene-Springfield Safe Routes to School for the second event in our Safe Streets for All Workshop series. We will build on themes from the first event to learn how to compile walk audit information and share it with decision makers to help make our streets safe for all.

To get ready:

  1. Register for Part 2 via AARP®.
  2. If you missed Part 1, watch the recording on Facebook.
  3. Before the workshop, download the AARP® Safe Streets Audit Worksheets.
  4. Take a walk on your own or with a friend and try out the worksheets. If you like, share your work (and the name of your neighborhood) with Carmel Snyder at csnyder@aarp.org.
  5. Join us for Part 2 on Tuesday, March 30, at 10:00 a.m. via Zoom with your questions or observations!

One Response to Safe Streets for All Interactive Workshop Part Two

  1. Jeannie Snyder says:

People drive way too fast on Lancaster and Lynbrook drive. There are no posted speed limit signs at all on either street.
I have written to many city leaders about this and nothing has been done. I have asked that speed bumps be put on these streets like they have in South Eugene, but no one has responded.
Could we at least get some speed limits posted.
I have almost gotten hit twice crossing Lancaster at Ridden because of the blind curve there.
