Plots available in the Santa Clara Community garden

Plots for the upcoming season are now available. The garden is behind St.   Matthews Episcopal Church (near Awbrey Park).  The cost is $60 for the        season.  For more information, contact Peter Thurston. (thurstop@gmail.com; 541-321-0798)

Mark your calendars:  Awbrey Park Wildflower Walk

This year’s annual wildflower walk at Awbrey Park is scheduled for Saturday, April 28 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Each year when the wildflowers begin to bloom, the Friends of Awbrey Park suspend their monthly work parties so as not to damage plants and to hold an educational open house to celebrate the beauty of the park. One item of discussion at the upcoming SCCO meeting is the possibility of joining with Friends of Awbrey Park to expand this yearly celebration of nature to a larger community gathering and party.

Update on the work on our neighborhood plan

On February 7, volunteers from River Road and Santa Clara came together as focus groups as a first step toward the construction of our Neighborhood Plan. Visions in four focus areas were verbalized and recorded to help to form a framework for possible policies as the plan moves forward.  To join the process or to just keep informed: www.RiverRoad-SantaClaraPlan.org
