Reminder – Neighborhood Plan CAC meeting tonight – 6 PM

River Road Santa Clara Neighborhood Plan

The public is welcome to the Community Advisory Committee Meeting (CAC) tonight.

The Committee is dedicated to creating a neighborhood plan, adopted by the City and County, that advances the community vision of the River Road and Santa Clara neighborhoods while being consistent with Envision Eugene. Attending CAC meetings is a good way to keep informed of the progress made on the Neighborhood Plan over the past 16 months.

CERT meetings update

Community Emergency Response Team

Here are some different ways to get involved with the local CERT program. (Community Emergency Response Team).

1.Monthly Community Preparedness Meetings – 1st Wednesday of every month (Link to Dates, Times and Topics

2. Take the Basic CERT class – Sign up hereLink to schedule

3. Monthly Northwest Quadrant Meetings:

  When: Every second Saturday, starting March 9th.
  Where: Emerald Park classroom
  What time: 10:00AM to 12:00PM

These meeting are different from the monthly CERT meetings held on Chambers and 2nd. The Northwest Quadrant meetings will be more focused on the needs of citizens living in the Eugene Northwest Quadrant (NWQ). The topics will be different as well. The first meeting will be to find out what people in the northwest quadrant are interested in learning. The schedule of topics will be developed based on the input from the first meeting.

Upcoming Lane County Plastics Roundup Pre-collection Notice.

Hi Neighbors, I’m signed up as a Santa Clara area Community Collector for the Plastics Roundup happening on April 7th. You can bring your clean, de-labeled, sorted plastics to me ANYTIME between now and April 3rd. You will need to make an appointment with me to curate your materials (so you can bring home and discard anything that won’t be accepted). Plus, I’ll educate you about the process (and encourage you to educate others). It’ll be fun and informative, I promise. My number is 541-689-8897. Here are the rules:

Lane County will ONLY accept #2, #4 and #5 tubs, jugs, bottles, lids and beverage handles that are CLEAN and free of debris (adhesive labels must be removed). Materials must be sorted into the following five material categories: 
#2 bottles & jugs; 
#2 tubs & lids; 
#2 beverage handles; 
#4 bottles, tubs & lids; 
#5 bottles, tubs & lids. 

Dirty plastic, plastics other than #2, #4 and #5, and items that aren’t stamped with a resin identification code will not be accepted. Glued on labels must be removed. See the FAQ document for tips on removing labels.
