City of Eugene needs our input on Parks

popupEugeneThe city of Eugene is trying a new approach to gather input from residents. The city has created a ‘Pop-Up Tour’.  Rather than setting meeting times and places and inviting citizens to attend a meeting, the city will be touring the city, stopping at high traffic events or locations.

The two closest Pop-Up Tour opportunities are:

  • June 25th – Bi-Mart on River Road. 4-6 PM
  • July 30th – Awbrey Park Concert in the Park.  6-8:30 PM

This is a great opportunity to give the city some feedback and have some fun at the  same time.

SCRRIPT meeting Tuesday, May 12th

The next meeting of the Santa Clara-River Road Implementation Planning Team (SCRRIPT)  is Tuesday, May 12th at 5:30 p.m. at 1250 Irvington Drive.  The team is charged with drafting a 20-year area plan for River Road and Santa Clara.  For more information, contact Jerry Finigan

Luper Cemetery Memorial Day Open House

lupercemeteryThe Luper Cemetery Memorial Day Open House will be May 23, 24 and 25, 2015.

A dedication ceremony will be held during the Memorial Day event for the new monument that was installed this winter near the cemetery entrance. The monument is a memorial to the people known to be interred at Luper Cemetery whose gravesites and markers cannot be located. A grant from the Oregon Commission on Historic Cemeteries helped make this memorial possible.

The cemetery may be accessed every day from dawn to dusk by walking or biking the half-mile gravel road from the West Beacon Drive entrance to the cemetery. The main vehicle gate is opened on special occasions, including Veterans Day and Memorial Day.

MovingAhead Transportation Meeting

The MovingAhead project includes the traffic jammed Beltline overpass, River Road and Highway 99.

River Road Corridor at North Eugene High School

Tuesday, May 19 at 5:00 pm – 7:30 pm

Multiple corridors will be discussed at this event, including the Beltline corridor. The presentation and workshop will begin at 5:30 pm. Bring your family – supervised children’s activities and snacks will be provided.
