The August meeting will feature the Upper Willamette Soil and Water Conservation District. They will give us a presentation about their mission and the scope of their work.

And don’t forget the FREE concert on Sunday at Awbrey Park.

Local talent will be playing a variety of styles.

  • Sky Lounge – Genuine lounge material like Straighten Up and Fly Right, and Route 66. They also reinterpret other old songs putting their own spin on them, sometimes lounge, jazz or swing, sometimes light Latin or light Reggae, to other classics from the likes of Joni Mitchell, Credence Clearwater, Mark Knopfler,  or Mose Allison….
  • The Nostalgics – 60’s, 70’s. 80’s Rock & Roll
  • Mandi Cody – Singer-songwriter… and ‘feel- good’ covers
  • Emma Mullen & Friends- groovy, soul-full tunes

ODOT Construction Alert on I-105

Work starts on I-105 Aug. 1

From ODOT:

We start paving nightly next week, the impacts and estimated schedule are outlined below for the upcoming lane and ramp closures. You can avoid delays by planning ahead and taking a different route.

To help get the work done faster and lessen the amount of time there will be traffic impacts, we are planning to have two weekends where we shift traffic, creating a dedicated work zone.

The first weekend shift we’ll move eastbound traffic into one of the westbound lanes. The second weekend we’ll move the westbound traffic into one of the eastbound lanes.

We have diagrams showing the plan for each of the weekend lane closures on our project webpage. 

Schedule

  • ​Aug. 1 – 3: We’ll start paving the road from Delta Highway to about Country Club Road. Expect single lane closures nightly, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Aug. 4 – 7: Starting at 8 p.m., we will shift traffic to the westbound lanes near Country Club Road to past Coburg Road while we pave and apply permanent striping on the eastbound lanes. We will reopen lanes by 5 a.m. Monday. 
    Ramp closures during this time:
    • Country Club Road eastbound off-ramp from eastbound I-105.  
    • Coburg Road eastbound on-ramp to eastbound I-105.  
  • Aug. 8 – 10: We will pave eastbound lanes nightly, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. towards Springfield.
  • Aug. 11 – 14: Starting at 8 p.m., we will shift traffic to the eastbound lanes from Country Club Road to past Coburg Road while we pave and apply permanent striping on the westbound lanes. We will reopen lanes by 5 a.m. Monday. 
    Ramp closures during this time:
    • Country Club Road westbound on-ramp to westbound I-105.  
    • Coburg Road off-ramp from westbound I-105.  
  • Starting Aug. 15, we will apply new driving surfaces to the bridges and finish paving the on and off-ramps. You can expect single lane closures nightly, Sunday night through Friday morning, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Next, we will install rumble strips and permanent striping.

Free Concert at Awbrey Park – August 6th

Bring your friends, lawn chairs or blankets and join us for live music, games for kids, and connection with neighbors. The free concert is at Awbrey Park on Sunday, August 6th from 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM.

There will be two food trucks. Renee’s Fries and Kona Ice of North Eugene will be there. The first 100 shaved ice treats are complimentary!

Four different groups will entertain you:
