Friends of Trees is a community urban forestry non-profit that plants trees throughout the neighborhoods of Eugene and Springfield with the help of volunteers and neighbors. The Santa Clara Community Foundation recently added stewardship of Hileman Landing County Park to its list of ongoing projects.
To kick off this effort, SCCF organized a work party on February 8th, 2023, to work on park projects (including invasive plant control) in collaboration with Lane County Parks and a team of young folks from Americorps/NCCC, and, of course, Santa Clara Neighbors!

Jameson Auten, the new general manager of LTD will join us from 7 to 7:30. He wants to introduce himself and begin a conversation with the neighborhood.
We will also have Sash Vartanian, Transportation Planning Supervisor for Lane County and Jon Patrick from the City of Eugene to present information about the future annexation of River Road right of way. This is only the street and right of way, not any adjacent properties. The purpose of the annexation is to move towards jurisdictional transfer, which includes permitting authority and maintenance responsibility.
